The Green Man Story

The Green Man is a mythical figure and is an ancient symbol of nature and is said to be the Green Man Brewery is an Award-winning brewery, that batch-brews according to the Bavarian Beer Purity Law of 1516, using only Water, Malt, Hops and Yeast. They are as natural as it gets, with no added sugars. If you are going to drink beer, then it should not only taste good, it should be good for you!

Established in 2006, Green Man has grown from producing 1 beer, to now having 6 different core styles with the addition of some seasonal styles, so there’s bound to be something to cater for every-ones differing tastes. The beer comes in the traditional craft beer size of a 500ml bottle, but we also offer 330ml options, and also in kegs. You will find Green Man sold through-out New Zealand in a variety of retail outlets, and bars and restaurants. Also check out our on-line store to buy direct from the brewery, and if you’re in Dunedin, come down to 9 Grange St, to the brewery shop. We are there Monday – Friday 9am – 4.30 pm.

Enrico Gritzner is our German Braumeister, and he has a long and impressive brewing background, with a four year degree gained at the Doemens Academy in Munich, and subsequent 21 years brewing experience around the world.
